Chapter 0: Prologue
The weather was bright and sunny. A few clouds dotted the deep blue sky.
It was the perfect weekend morning for holding a prayer meeting.
If only I weren’t the one hosting it.
The believers had gathered from all over, like clouds, just to hear a single word.
There weren’t enough seats, so even the remaining space at the back of the chapel was packed with people standing.
Only I stood on a small podium, looking down at all these people.
[The god of entertainment says you can say anything you want.]
I whispered softly.
“Silver is for eloquence, gold is for silence. Many who could not come are still waiting, so we must wait a little longer.”
‘Not a word until the prayer meeting starts, so shut your mouth, you bastards.’
My eyes met those of a male priest helping prepare the prayer meeting nearby.
Judging by his expression, he seemed moved by my words.
“Because of the depth and magnitude of the saint’s virtue, many travel from afar just to hear your voice. Truly, your generosity is a blessing from the gods.”
I smiled faintly at his compliment and replied.
“Still, it is regrettable. Everyone must know when to part, but I fear that my leaving might become yet another wound to the believers.”
‘Religious fools, do your rituals hard! I’m leaving—never come looking for me, haha.’
The priest gave a wry smile and stepped slightly aside.
“To fill a cup, one must first empty it. Even if the saint leaves, the words you have left behind will remain in the hearts of the believers forever. Farewell.”
[The god of love says, ‘At this level, she wouldn’t be a bad romantic partner, right?’]
[The god of beauty checks the priest’s face and agrees with the god of love.]
Have they lost their minds?
I couldn’t tolerate the nonsense these self-proclaimed gods were spouting and lightly snapped.
“How could I, one who serves the gods, ever regard a devoted priest as a mere object of romantic interest?”
‘Insane obsessive love freaks, please shut up and stay quiet.’
Ignoring their chatter, I sighed.
What crime had I committed to be in this situation?
Playing the saint role, which wasn’t in my destiny, was making me itch all over.
From afar, the priest responsible for broadcasting magic gave the OK sign.
I lightly tapped the crystal ball enhanced with voice amplification magic.
Tap, tap—
The nearly thousand-strong audience instantly fell silent.
They had come all the way to this harsh temple just to hear my voice.
Every eye in the packed chapel was fixed solely on me.
I took a short, deep breath and began to speak.
“Greetings, everyone.”
‘You bastards.’
Words flowed smoothly from my mouth, entirely different from my true thoughts.
