Chapter 123: Outside, I’m a healer (end)

Part 19

“Next up, a wave of donations sparked by a gaming company’s contribution to a pediatric cancer foundation is rapidly spreading among gamers via social media…”

“Cough!?”

“Yoonseo?”

It was a typical morning. After sending her brother off to work, Yoonseo was eating with her parents, who were preparing for their own workday. A sudden news segment caught her off guard. She rarely paid attention to the news, but this wasn’t something she could ignore.

Her mother’s worried voice registered as Yoonseo covered her mouth, coughing from a mis-swallowed rice grain. Her father quietly slid a glass of water across the table. She gulped it down, eyes stinging from the sharp sensation in her throat. Her parents’ concerned gazes hit her belatedly. Honestly, it was more embarrassing than touching.

“Eat slowly. You don’t have a schedule, right?” her father said.

“Uh, no… I mean, yeah.”

“Singer-songwriter Si-hyun’s post gained traction, sparking this movement. ‘Respect to gamers who’ve gone beyond consuming culture to creating a warm one,’ the post read…”

That jerk. Why drag her into this? Grabbing her spoon, Yoonseo glared at the TV, where a frustratingly handsome man’s photo loomed large. Her mood soured instantly.

“The developer is respecting the anonymous voice actor’s wish to remain unnamed. However, this donation wave has drawn support not only from gamers but also from celebrities like Si-hyun…”

Ignoring her throbbing head, Yoonseo silently dreaded the comments awaiting her stream. She felt bad brushing off her parents’ concern, but this wasn’t going to stay quiet.

Part 20

[Saintess’s VA is the Saintess?] – Anonymous

—The saintess voiced the saintess, donated the pay, and sparked a donation miracle?

└ Anonymous: Like a documentary lolol.

└ Anonymous: She’s just a streamer; isn’t this hyping her too much?

└ Anonymous: Nah, this deserves respect. It’s not a small amount, and the dubbing’s solid even for an amateur.

└ Anonymous: Her streams show her character. Rare for someone young to do good like this.

└ Anonymous: -Boomer alert-

└ Anonymous: This is real lolol.

└ Anonymous: Gotta survey StormCloud’s viewer age range, fr.

└ Anonymous: Mostly just chatting, so it’s watchable for all ages lol.

└ Anonymous: Now LOH’s official streamer lolol.

└ Anonymous: Totally “anonymous” voice actor, right? lol

Part 21

Seeing a character she voiced be loved stirred an indescribable, ticklish feeling in Yoonseo—new to such experiences.

Before streaming, after dishes and light housework, she had a couple of idle hours. Glancing at the clock nearing noon, she closed pop-up windows from browsing.

“…Hoo…”

Surprisingly positive reviews. Warm reactions. And despite her plea for anonymity, everyone seemed to know it was her. Alone, her face flushed.

Two weeks since dubbing, one since her character’s reveal. The tutorial revamp was long-planned, and she’d heard quick dubbing could hit the game soon, but this pace felt breakneck.

“Maybe skip streaming today…” she mumbled.

The past week’s teasing about her dubbing had been relentless. With Sanghyun and her managers’ help, she’d kept streams civil, focusing on her tasks despite growing viewership. But this…

“…National TV?!”

Surely some viewers watched the news. Or saw online articles. She’d only tried a new game after bristling at being called bad at AOS—how’d it come to this?

“Hng, Noona on the news now?” If she saw such chats, or the flood of “Kiii” emotes, could her sanity hold?

“Haa…”

It wasn’t just about her—the character she voiced felt like it was being judged in a competition. The mix of thrill and embarrassment was hard to pin down.

The mouse’s clicks echoed hollowly. She’d lost count of how many times she’d opened and closed the streaming app. Time marched on, forcing a choice.

“…It’s gonna be chaos,” she sighed.

Her short streaming career had been smooth, no crises. But now, a potential storm loomed, out of her control.

This felt like her most “public” act yet. Countless eyes, one-sided judgments—not unlike before, but too heavy to laugh off this time.

“…Hoo…”

Time slipped past 11 a.m. Lunch prep didn’t cross her mind. Her last checkup said she was frail but stable—a skipped meal wouldn’t hurt.

Abandoning lunch plans, her wandering cursor opened the streaming app early. The familiar waiting screen and UI greeted her. The outside noise didn’t change this space, she realized belatedly.

Part 22

[Viewer Participation LOH Homework Stream]

—Saintess, hi!

—Welcome, Saintess!

—Gaming at lunch? Your followers are sad, Saintess.

“The saintess is Karina, the blonde NPC. I’m StormCloud, the streamer, guys,” Yoonseo said.

Bonfire’s gifted waiting screen faded, replaced by her familiar background and cam. Her slightly clueless face, naturally blonde hair and golden eyes—not dyed or contacts, as she insisted—filled the screen. The chat exploded instantly.

Waving at sporadic donation alerts, StormCloud’s routine greeting brought a strange calm to viewers.

The stream’s title, longer than the usual “Chatting,” was a slight surprise but not unheard of. Nothing major changed—just the usual smiles and careful chat reading, keeping the vibe relaxed.

That’s what her viewers always thought.

—Noona, congrats on national TV!!!!

—Quitting streaming for celebrity life?

“I always say, I’m graduating grad school and becoming a civil servant,” she replied.

—Don’t cross that river!

—At this point, just admit you’re a streamer lolol.

The chat surged, louder than usual. Likely due to the internet buzz and morning news confirming the donation frenzy.

Even amidst the chaotic chat, StormCloud kept the conversation flowing. Her earnest effort, brimming with goodwill, made some viewers smile unconsciously. With the uproar tied to a good deed, “Saintess” suited her surprisingly well.

—Ambush Rogue waiting.

“Thanks for the 5,000 won, BeefRibs-nim, but bribes won’t get you first pick,” she said.

—StormCloud’s the best!

—No bribes, fr lol.

There was some commotion. Most expected a lively stream today, and StormCloud likely did too.

Yet she didn’t show it. Her usual soft-spoken tone, calm atmosphere, gentle reactions, and restrained laughter persisted. The Legacy of Horizon logo flashed, followed by the revamped tutorial zone and its golden-haired, golden-eyed NPC with white wings and a doe-eyed expression.

“…Pfft.”

Her stifled laugh sparked a flood of “Kiii” emotes in the chat.

“Haha… seriously, I’m not that connected to this character,” she said.

—Sure, sure~

—Of course, you’re just a streamer~

—No dubbing for you, right~

“I can’t stop laughing… pfft…”

Her clear laughter spread like a contagion. The light chaos—everyone giggling—was likely what viewers wanted from her stream.

“…Hoo, okay, guys.”

—?

—Yes?

—Why so serious lolol.

“I’m not that person, but the donation relay’s kinda cool. I’m not that person, but… thanks.”

—Sure, sure~

—No relation at all~

—Obviously~

That was enough.
