Chapter 6: Do you want to go to the counterattack?

[Ria’s Comment]

(❁´◡`❁) Rainberg sunbaenim!

Hello, I’m the virtual streamer Ria.

Actually, I watch your streams whenever I get the chance.

You sometimes play Killwatch, my best game!

I always have so much fun watching.

Thank you for always streaming.

But, I have some serious feedback.

I noticed something while watching your streams!

Please don’t take it too personally.

After close observation!

Your aim is too low.

Killwatch is a headshot game, and you can’t clutch like that.

Unfortunately, I think I’m a bit better at dealing than you!

A cold, hard fact!

If… you’re not scared, how about a Killwatch match with me?

<Playful emoticon, V>

<Apologetic emoticon, Grandbow>

Haha, just kidding, but I really want to do an internal match with you!

Team or enemy, I don’t care! Please pick me!!

Of course, I’ll play dealer. I can handle any character. ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

Balance? I… don’t have internal match experience?? ʕ •̀ o •́ ʔ

(But I hit Grandmaster, though?? ✿╹◡╹)

Streamer Name: Ria

Position: Dealer (I’ll pick characters based on the situation!)

Balance: Hit Grandmaster on Korea server! I don’t know about balance since I’ve never done internals. Sub-position is Master-level!!!

P.S. Thank you so much for holding this internal match!! I’m so grateful just for the opportunity!

Even if I don’t get picked, I’ll always cheer from afar.

That’s all!

*

FPS streamer Rainberg.

A veteran streamer on Forest.

Eight years into streaming after retiring as a pro.

[Rainberg. Back from a good rest.]

“Ah, mic check, can you hear me?”

– Reha.

– Reha.

– Bug-nim, you’re back?

– Phew… long hiatus, huh.

– Ice age over, big bro?

“Alright, settle down, everyone.”

It was Rainberg’s first stream in a while.

He’d taken a long break after a big content event.

– 【Rebbagi_Seoul】 Only three opening songs today, lol wtf.

– 【Rebbagi_Bug】 For real? Back in the day, he’d do 15-minute intros.

– 【Satanberg】 Y’all are Rain-noobs. That’s just his three-day resolution. Streamers never change lol.

“…Huh?”

[Satanberg has been hit with a 1-time chat ban.]

“Hey, my stream, my rules. Satan, one more chat like that, and you’re out.”

– 【Bug’s_Hair】 Damn, Rain-law in effect.

– 【Rebbagi_Junho】 Fighting with viewers again?

– 【RAINBUG】 Yeolsa-nim with the hot take, huh? Told ya he doesn’t change.

“Hey, you guys, stick around.”

[Satanberg has been made a stream moderator.]

[RAINBUG has been made a stream moderator.]

“Gonna freeze chat for a bit. We need to talk.”

Rainberg unleashed his 1:1 ultimate.

As usual, he bantered warmly with viewers.

To outsiders, he seemed like a rough, tough-guy streamer.

Maybe a bit intimidating.

Fighting with viewers and raging in-game were common.

But his big-bro vibe drew tons of fans.

Plus, off-stream, Rainberg wasn’t a bad guy.

“Alright, as announced, we’re doing Killwatch today after a long break.”

– Oh, Killwatch feels fresh after so long.

– Been ages since I saw Killwatch on Forest.

– Probably ‘cause no one sets up internal matches?

– Still, Rainberg’s the guy to make it happen lol.

– I’m out after this content. Killwatch ain’t my thing.

– Rebug, no clue about Killwatch, but you joining Rose’s Mark RPG server?

– I wanna watch Bora’s stream too. How long you gonna stay cooped up gaming?

– So, what’s part two?

Chat was split.

Since Rainberg played various FPS games, some were hyped for Killwatch.

Others, craving familiar content, indirectly begged for something else.

“Shut it.”

Rainberg silenced chat with one word.

He did what he wanted.

His streaming experience was too seasoned to fall for cheap backseating.

He reviewed the internal match applications on the platform.

The issue? Balance.

“Man, who do I pick?”

– lololol

– Tons of applicants, but no one matches Rebug’s level.

– Other lines are fine, but no one for main order?

As an ex-pro, Rainberg loved taking charge and calling shots in-game.

Winning that way was his style.

Problem was, the streamers he usually balanced with were all busy today.

Some were in collabs, others in other content, so no one could join.

Then a viewer typed in chat.

– Gospel commented on joining, but doesn’t Gospel outbalance Rebug?

That hit Rainberg’s sore spot.

“…What’d you say?”

Gospel, another ex-pro FPS streamer, played similar games.

“No way. Today, I’m balancing with Gospel and taking main order.”

His declaration set chat ablaze.

– Stop the nonsense.

– Idiot?

– Throwing donations at Gospel again? Renan-donation lololol.

– Ego’s gonna take a hit.

– What did fans do to deserve this? Always getting crushed and begging for funding.

– Why keep headbutting when the balance is off?

‘Whoa.’

Rainberg didn’t expect this reaction.

Chat united and started roasting him.

“Guys, Gospel’s not that good at Killwatch. I think I can take him.”

He softened, gauging chat’s mood.

– Yeah, do it. Please, just do it.

– Nah, I’m out, bye.

– Same scene, same ending. Same disaster.

– Gospel’s got something on him, no?

Chat wasn’t calming down.

Rainberg thought their reaction was a bit much.

He hadn’t even confirmed Gospel for balance yet.

“Yo, chill with the chat spam.”

[MaliciousYudong123 has been kicked.]

[Rebbagi_Perkill has been kicked.]

[FPSOnly has been kicked.]

A brief crackdown on chat ensued.

But Rainberg knew.

If he pushed for Gospel, chat would riot again.

“Ahem, I’ll headbutt Gospel another time. Let’s try something fresh today.”

He compromised with viewers.

Might as well set up a new lineup.

Other balance lines? Filled with familiar members who always sync well.

With no one else in the same line, it was time to scout a new face.

‘New faces can be fun.’

Rainberg scrolled through applications.

With few high-tier users like him, he inevitably reached low-recommendation comments.

“Huh?”

Then he found it.

[Ria’s Comment]

A comment dripping with audacity from an unknown VTuber.

“…Is she drunk?”

He almost skipped it.

Pause.

But the comment’s contents caught his eye.

As he scrolled to the end.

Crack.

“…What a nutcase.”

Rainberg made up his mind.

He’d flatten this VTuber’s ego today!

“No way. Guys, I’m balancing with Ria.”

– lol beating up a girl again?

– First time seeing her, is she legit?

– Says she’s Grandmaster, but can she balance with Rainberg? He’s Master-tier.

– Grandmaster vs Master, how’s that balanced?

– Fresh, though. Could be a good picture.

– What if it’s an epic balance fail?

Chat didn’t ignite like with Gospel.

There were concerns, but still.

“Guys, Korea server Grandmaster, not Asia server.”

“Korea server? I could hit Legend there. Stop whining about balance.”

“And we’re doing this low-key, so chill. When else would she get a shot?”

Rainberg logically quelled their complaints.

Korea server tiers were easier than the integrated Asia server.

In Killwatch’s upper-tier structure—Master, Grandmaster, Legend—he figured the balance was close enough.

“Oh, and obviously, I’m going dealer for a straight-up duel.”

Man’s pride, you know.

An ex-pro losing to a female VTuber? No way.

Rainberg boldly accepted the rookie’s challenge.

The internal match lineup was set.

“Alright, everyone, join the voice channel in ten minutes.”

Rainberg posted the confirmed lineup on the platform.

At this point, neither he nor the viewers knew.

“Seriously, what a nutcase.”

“Bug-nim, ex-pro, right?”

“What’d you say? You’re getting Yacha rules later.”

“Call, no backing out.”

No one could’ve predicted the insane Satan show about to unfold.
